Celebrating the end to a season!

As I close the door on a season of my career, I can’t help but be thankful for the impact the wedding industry had on my life over the past 4 years.

Starting in 2018, I will no longer be accepting orders for custom wedding stationery. This comes as a shock to no other than myself as invitation design has fueled my design fire for sometime now!

I remember it like it was yesterday… I was working an internship with @americanprintingcenterbr in Baton Rouge during college. We worked with all types of clients from brides to corporate businesses. One day, my boss, Tracey, approached me about a summer project which would include me creating a collection of 500 custom event invitations ranging from weddings to birthday parties to baby showers and etc…

UHM WHAT! Can you say crazy? But this collection was very important to the future of APC, and because of that, it was important to me.

Little did I know, after the 500 custom invitations had been created, I’d only want nothing more than to continue curating beautiful invitation designs. Except, I didn’t want to make them for APC anymore. I wanted to create my OWN stationery company and a custom line of invitations for myself.

Since leaving APC in 2014, I have worked with about 30 or so brides on their custom wedding invitations and have loved most of my experiences. The wedding industry is a beast and you have to have tough skin to hang with the brides as well as the vendors who come together to make a wedding what it is.

Though I am so grateful for my experience, this past year has unexpectedly taken me and my work down a totally different path, and I couldn’t be more excited! I have completely fallen in love with my recent work which features a more corporate style of graphic design. I’ve have the pleasure of creating branding and marketing collateral for some amazing local companies in Waco, and I really can’t wait to see what 2018 has for my career as I continue to grow in this direction!

In celebration of closing a successful chapter, I wanted to showcase my final bride, Jasmin, who I just finished working with last month. She and her fiancé LOVE coffee so we did a java inspired wedding invitation suite design! I enjoyed how laid back Jasmin was to work with and how playful their final stationery prints turned out! She was one of my favorite brides, and I’m happy to have ended this season with her as my final bride!
